N-body Integration

A simulation of a simple N-body system

  • Stars are chosen randomly from a Plummer model in virial equilibrium.

  • All stars are point masses. By default, all masses are identical. To change this, specify a mass range (in the form low:high) in the box below (a Salpeter distribution is assumed).

  • Length unit = 1. Standard crossing time = 2.8 time units.

  • To start the simulation set N (3 <= N <= 100) and press "Run".

  • Animations are now working!   Warning: they may stress your browser!
